SAN DIEGO — In an impressive display of skill, Tyler McGhie led the UC San Diego Tritons to a decisive 85-60 victory over UC Davis on Saturday night, scoring a remarkable 22 points during the game.
Along with his scoring prowess, McGhie also contributed five assists for the Tritons, who now hold an impressive record of 22 wins and only 4 losses, with a conference standing of 12-2 in the Big West.
Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones supported the effort with 16 points, alongside six rebounds and six assists. Hayden Gray had a notable performance as well, hitting 5 of 11 shots, including 3 for 6 from three-point range, culminating in 13 points and adding four steals. This latest victory marks the Tritons’ seventh consecutive win, showcasing their formidable performance as the season progresses.
On the opposing side, the UC Davis Aggies (15-11, 9-6) saw Ty Johnson lead their scoring efforts with 14 points and two steals. Nils Cooper contributed 12 points and eight rebounds, while Pablo Tamba added eight points and six rebounds to the team’s effort.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Thursday, with UC San Diego set to visit Cal Poly, while UC Davis will host CSU Bakersfield at home.
