Rickey Bradley, Jr. led the Keydets with an impressive performance, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
Not far behind, TJ Johnson contributed 19 points while Augustinas Kiudulas added 18 points to the scoreboard, and the duo collectively pulled down 11 rebounds.
On the opposing side, the Bears’ standout player Tyler Johnson registered 19 points and made two steals, showcasing his defensive skills.
Jah Nze added to Mercer’s efforts with 10 points, while Cam Bryant chipped in nine points to round off their scoring.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action on Wednesday.
VMI will be hosting Wofford while Mercer will head out to face Citadel, as they both seek to improve their standings in the Southern Conference.
