King tallies 25 points as Northeastern defeats Stony Brook 71-60

BOSTON — Rashad King was instrumental in leading Northeastern to a victory against Stony Brook, scoring 25 points in the game that ended with a score of 71-60 on Saturday.

In addition to his scoring prowess, King contributed eight rebounds for the Huskies, who are now 15-12 overall and hold a 7-7 record in the Coastal Athletic Association. Harold Woods also delivered a strong performance with 16 points, alongside seven rebounds and five assists. JB Frankel added 12 points to the mix, showcasing his shooting skills by making four of seven attempts, including four of six from three-point range.

For the Seawolves, who are currently 6-21 and 2-12 in conference play, Andre Snoddy stood out with a solid performance, tallying 20 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and providing four assists. Collin O’Connor supported the team with 12 points and four assists, while Ben Wight contributed 11 points to the scoreline.

Northeastern gained control of the match just five minutes in and maintained their lead throughout. By halftime, the Huskies had established a solid advantage, leading 39-23 with Woods accounting for 12 points in the first half. Despite being outscored by Stony Brook in the second half by five points, King continued his strong play, finishing the second half with a team-high 14 points.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Thursday. Northeastern will play at home against Charleston, while Stony Brook will head out to face Hampton.
