Hurley’s 24 points guide Vermont to a 65-61 victory over Maine

    ORONO, Maine — Vermont emerged victorious against Maine with a final score of 65-61, thanks in large part to TJ Hurley’s impressive performance, where he scored 24 points. Hurley proved to be a significant asset for the Catamounts, connecting on 7 of his 13 shots, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, and 6 of 9 from the charity stripe. Alongside him, Ileri Ayo-Faleye contributed with 12 points, shooting 4 of 7 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, while also making an impact on defense with three blocks. Sam Alamutu rounded out the scoring for Vermont with nine points on 4 of 8 shooting.

    On the other side, Kellen Tynes was the leading scorer for the Black Bears, racking up 19 points and dishing out four assists. Quion Burns had a solid game as well, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Jaden Clayton also chipped in with seven points and five assists to support the team.

    Both teams are set to return to action on Thursday, with Vermont playing host to Bryant and Maine making the trip to face Albany (NY).
