COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In a decisive matchup on Thursday evening, Ray’Sean Taylor led SIU-Edwardsville to a commanding 75-58 victory over Tennessee Tech, scoring an impressive 28 points.
Taylor also contributed significantly to the team’s performance with five assists and three steals, helping the Cougars improve their season record to 17 wins and eight losses, including a strong 10-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Brian Taylor II also made a notable impact, scoring 19 points with an excellent shooting rate of 9 of 11 from the field.
Meanwhile, Kyle Thomas rounded out the top performers for the Cougars, achieving 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting.
For the Golden Eagles, JaJuan Nicholls emerged as the top scorer, tallying 16 points while also grabbing six rebounds and making two steals.
Daniel Egbuniwe added ten points to the scoreline for Tennessee Tech, while Jaylon Johnson contributed nine points and two steals, though it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap against the Cougars.
Looking ahead, SIU-Edwardsville will prepare to host UT Martin next Thursday, while Tennessee Tech will face Eastern Illinois at home on Saturday.
