The Cleveland Cavaliers, leading the Eastern Conference, are finalizing a deal to acquire forward De’Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. This transaction was reported just before the 3 p.m. Eastern trade deadline on Thursday.

As part of the exchange, the Cavaliers will be sending Caris LeVert and Georges Niang to the Hawks, along with a collection of future second-round draft picks and potential pick swaps. The individual providing this information requested anonymity due to the deal’s pending approval from the league.

There is also the possibility that the trade could be adjusted to include additional assets that the Hawks may be looking to acquire, though it remains unclear if such changes have been made during the discussions.

So far this season, Hunter has been a key contributor for the Hawks, averaging 19 points per game. In contrast, LeVert and Niang have had varying roles with the Cavaliers, contributing 10.1 points and 8.6 points per game, respectively, both primarily off the bench.
