EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — Myles Thompson delivered an impressive performance for SIU-Edwardsville, contributing 15 points in their commanding 66-41 win over Eastern Illinois on Tuesday evening.
Thompson’s effort wasn’t just limited to scoring; he also secured 11 rebounds, showcasing his versatility on the court for the Cougars, who move to an overall record of 16-8 and 9-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Ray’Sean Taylor added to the offensive efforts with 13 points, hitting 5 of 11 shots, including two out of seven attempts from beyond the arc. Desmond Polk also made a notable contribution, scoring 11 points on 4 of 11 shooting, which included three successful three-point shots, while pulling down six rebounds.
On the other side of the court, Artese Stapleton topped the score sheet for the Panthers with 11 points. Eastern Illinois also saw Obadiah Curtis chip in with 10 points, but it was not enough to secure a victory.
Both teams are set to face Tennessee Tech in their next games, with SIU-Edwardsville scheduled to play on Thursday, while Eastern Illinois will take to the court on Saturday.
