RENO, Nev. — In a thrilling college basketball matchup, the Nevada Wolf Pack secured a victory over the UNLV Rebels with a final score of 71-65 on Saturday night.
Nick Davidson was instrumental in this win, contributing 14 points and grabbing six rebounds for the Wolf Pack, who now hold a record of 12 wins and 10 losses, along with a 4-7 record in the Mountain West Conference. Other notable performances included Kobe Sanders, who tallied 13 points, shooting 4 for 8 from the field and a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Justin McBride also matched Sanders with 13 points, going 4 for 8 shooting, including hitting 1 of 5 from beyond the arc and converting 4 of 5 attempts from the charity stripe.
The Rebels, standing with an equal 11-11 record and 5-6 in conference play, had Jaden Henley lead their scoring efforts with 14 points alongside three steals. Dedan Thomas Jr. added 12 points and dished out six assists, while Jeremiah Cherry also contributed 12 points to the team’s efforts.
McBride dominated the first half for Nevada, scoring 13 points and helping the Wolf Pack to a narrow lead of 33-30 at halftime. As the second half unfolded, Nevada quickly surged ahead, extending a five-point lead to as much as 12 points with a decisive 7-0 run, bringing the score to 46-34 with just over 14 minutes remaining. In the latter part of the game, Sanders stepped up significantly, adding another 13 points to ensure Nevada maintained control of the game.
Looking ahead, both Nevada and UNLV are set to return to action on Tuesday, with Nevada traveling to face Air Force, while UNLV will host Boise State.
