The decisive moment of the match came when Mashburn sank a crucial free throw with just 2 seconds remaining in double overtime.
For the Owls, who now hold a record of 13 wins and 8 losses, with 5 wins and 3 losses in the American Athletic Conference, Mashburn’s contribution also included six rebounds. Teammate Steve Settle chipped in with 13 points, shooting effectively with a 5-for-10 record from the floor, which included a successful shot from long range. Zion Stanford also made his mark in the game, scoring 12 points while managing to go 4 for 4 from the free-throw line in addition to grabbing six rebounds.
