Chattanooga secures victory over Western Carolina with a score of 84-60

CULLOWHEE, N.C. — Honor Huff delivered an impressive performance, scoring 25 points as Chattanooga secured an 84-60 victory over Western Carolina on Wednesday evening.

In addition to his scoring, Huff contributed five rebounds for the Mocs, who improved their record to 14-8 overall and 6-3 in the Southern Conference. Bash Wieland added 12 points to the scorecard, shooting 5 for 10 from the field, though he struggled from three-point range, going 0 for 5. Frank Champion also matched Wieland’s contributions, finishing the game with 12 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the floor.

On the other side, the Catamounts were led by Marcus Kell, who netted 15 points and recorded two blocks throughout the game. Cord Stansberry provided additional support by adding 11 points for Western Carolina, whose record now stands at 6-14 and 2-7 in the conference.

Chattanooga seized control early, taking their first lead just 92 seconds into the game and maintaining it for the remainder of the contest. By halftime, the Mocs had built a significant advantage, leading 44-25, with Huff already tallying 11 points.

In the second half, Chattanooga showcased their dominance by executing a 9-0 run, further widening their lead from 20 to 29 points. Huff’s performance continued to shine; he scored 14 points in the second half alone, helping to cement the team’s victory.
