BALTIMORE – In a strong performance on Saturday night, Will Thomas scored 21 points, leading Morgan State to an 80-64 victory against Coppin State.
Thomas was effective on both ends of the court, contributing five rebounds to help his team secure the win. The Bears, now sitting at 9-12 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, saw significant contributions from their roster. Kameron Hobbs supported the effort with 20 points, hitting 7 of 17 shots and excelling from beyond the arc with four successful three-pointers. Additionally, Ahmarie Simpkins made his mark by shooting 5 of 7 from the floor, finishing with 15 points, which included four points from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Eagles struggled to find their rhythm. Khali Horton was the standout performer for Coppin State, scoring 15 points and making two steals. Peter Oduro notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Toby Nnadozie contributed 11 points and three steals. The Eagles are having a challenging season, currently holding a record of 3-17 and 1-4 in the conference.
Both teams are set to compete again next Saturday. Morgan State will welcome Maryland-Eastern Shore to their home court, while Coppin State will take on Delaware State at home, looking to bounce back from this loss.
