New Rochelle, NY – Dejour Reaves delivered a stellar performance by scoring 25 points, leading Iona to a convincing 82-61 victory over Canisius on Thursday evening.
Reaves not only excelled in scoring but also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds for the Gaels, who improved to a record of 6-12 overall and 3-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Adam Njie added an impressive 14 points, showcasing efficiency by hitting 7 out of 10 shots from the field, alongside six rebounds and nine assists. Luke Jungers also played a crucial role in the offensive surge, sinking 5 of 9 attempts from the field, including four 3-pointers, to accumulate 14 points.
On the other hand, the Golden Griffins, who now hold a dismal record of 1-16 and 1-5 in conference play, found their scoring leader in Tana Kopa, who netted 20 points. Jasman Sangha also had a noteworthy game, contributing 14 points, along with seven rebounds and blocking three shots. Paul McMillan IV added to their tally with 12 points as well.
Looking ahead, Iona is set to compete against Rider on Thursday in an away game, while Canisius will travel to play Fairfield on Saturday.
