INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Steve Ballmer, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, along with his wife Connie, has committed to contributing an initial amount of $15 million as emergency support for individuals impacted by the recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The Ballmer Group made this announcement on their official website, indicating that the funds will be directed toward meeting urgent needs for food and shelter in the affected areas, as well as assisting first responders who are active in the crisis.
In their statement, the Ballmers expressed their deep affection for Los Angeles and their dedication to aiding communities hit hard by the wildfires. They noted that the donation would have a particular focus on the historic and diverse neighborhood of Altadena, highlighting their commitment to those who are most affected.
Additionally, the Ballmer Group is organizing a concert known as FireAid, which is set to take place on January 30 at Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum, both of which are under Ballmer’s ownership.
The couple acknowledged the lengthy recovery journey that lies ahead for the Los Angeles area and reaffirmed their commitment to provide ongoing support to the community during this difficult time.
Their donation effort is comprehensive, addressing a variety of needs—it’s set to benefit four wildfire relief funds, support two emergency shelters and housing initiatives, aid two groups focused on food and essential supplies, assist two first responder organizations, and help nine groups that cater to the basic needs of students and families.
