LONDON — On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales made a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she once underwent treatment for cancer. During this visit, she expressed her heartfelt appreciation towards the medical staff who provided her care, while also offering encouragement to current patients receiving treatment at the renowned facility.

Commonly known as Kate, she attended this solo engagement at the Royal Marsden, a leading cancer treatment center in London celebrated for its state-of-the-art techniques and groundbreaking research. Interestingly, her prior treatment at the hospital had not been disclosed before this visit.

After entering through the main entrance of the hospital, Kate remarked on the significance of the occasion. “I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it’s quite nice,” she noted, reflecting on her past experiences.

In a statement, her office at Kensington Palace emphasized that the Princess would gradually be resuming public engagements. The palace highlighted this visit as a representation of her personal journey with cancer.

The royal family experienced significant health challenges over the previous year, starting with the announcement in January 2024 about the king’s treatment for an enlarged prostate. Following this, it was revealed that Kate would also be undergoing abdominal surgery.

In February, Buckingham Palace disclosed that Charles was receiving treatment for a yet-to-be-identified type of cancer. Just six weeks later, Kate made her own announcement, confirming that she too was battling cancer, consequently silencing persistent rumors regarding her health that had proliferated on social media since her surgery.

By September, she shared the positive news that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment, marking a significant milestone in her recovery journey.
