SEATTLE — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Seattle University edged out Abilene Christian with a narrow 66-64 win, thanks in large part to Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe’s standout performance.
Moncrieffe closed the game with an impressive tally of 23 points while also contributing significantly on the boards, securing 11 rebounds for the Redhawks, who now hold a record of 6-10 overall and 1-1 within the Western Athletic Conference.
Paris Dawson played a crucial role as well, finishing the night with 12 points, achieving a shooting record of 4-for-9 overall, which included 1-for-4 from beyond the arc. He also made all his free throws, going 3-for-3, and added six rebounds along with eight assists to his name.
John Christofilis contributed another 12 points but faced challenges on the court, making only 4 of his 14 shot attempts, with 2 of those being from three-point territory.
On the opposing side, the Wildcats, who fell to 8-9 and are still searching for their first conference win at 0-2, were led by Quion Williams. He had a solid performance with 16 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks.
Additionally, Bradyn Hubbard contributed 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Leonardo Bettiol rounded out the scoring for Abilene Christian with 11 points and two steals.
