Shirtless Savior in Tel Aviv

In the middle of air-raid sirens and exploding missiles, Heartthrob of the Holy Land Raz Nissim Cohen leapt into action. The muscular 6-foot-2 Israeli, known more for showing off his abs than saving lives, rescued an elderly couple from a high-rise under threat of collapse in Tel Aviv.

No Shirt, No Fear

Cohen was walking the street in his usual outfit—just gym shorts and a handgun tucked in the waistband—when a woman ran up, begging him to help. The building nearby had taken damage from a missile strike, and two seniors were trapped upstairs.

He Kicked Down The Door

“The building looked like it would collapse like a domino,” Cohen recalled. Without thinking twice, he sprinted inside and raced up the stairs. Finding the apartment door bolted, he kicked it down with brute force and dragged the stunned couple out.

Hero or Madman?

“I fought with the man to get him to leave,” Cohen said. “I said, ‘I’m so sorry,’ and just grabbed him.” The moment was caught on camera by the Associated Press as Cohen guided the pair out just minutes before the structure collapsed.

Gratitude and Goosebumps

Though he never caught their names, the couple’s son later found Cohen after recognizing him in the viral image. He thanked him for saving his parents’ lives. Cohen, true to form, shrugged off the praise: “God put me where I was supposed to be.”

Already A Legend

In Tel Aviv, Cohen is a local celebrity. Years before the rescue, he was dubbed the Heartthrob of the Holy Land for his constant shirtless appearances across the city—and his legendary abs. One local joked, “You can count on two things in Tel Aviv: great hummus and Raz showing up shirtless.”

Not His First Rescue

Cohen says this isn’t his first time diving into danger. He’s previously pulled neighbors from burning buildings. “I don’t care if people say I’m crazy,” he said. “I’m crazy in my way.” His personal motto: act first, worry later.

Humble But Honest

Despite the cheers from women all over the world—and a new flood of marriage proposals—Cohen insists he’s not a hero. “I’m not into one-night things,” he said of the attention. “She needs to love God, the gym, and looking good. Blondes get bonus points.”

Fans Go Wild

Bracha Banayan, a 35-year-old from New York filming a documentary on Jewish husbands, called Cohen “beautiful inside and out.” Another admirer quipped, “Who needs the Iron Dome when you have Raz Nissim Cohen?”

Unexpected Celebrity

Cohen first went viral in 2016 when he crashed an interview with NBA star Nate Robinson and challenged him to a one-on-one. Since then, he’s built a cult following for his superhero body and bare-chested city strolls.

Shirtless, Spiritual, and Sought After

A longtime fan said, “The only time I’ve seen him wear a shirt in ten years is at synagogue. And even then, it’s probably tight.” She added, “He’d give you the shirt off his back—if he wore one.”

Hero of the Holy Land

In a week of bloodshed, fear, and war, one man stood half-naked in defiance of death—and did something no one else dared. Heartthrob of the Holy Land Raz Nissim Cohen didn’t just flex his muscles. He used them to save lives.
