In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 11th goal of the season, contributing to Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Okhdood on Thursday, marking the return of the Saudi Pro League after a month-long hiatus.
Initially, it was Al-Okhdood who took the upper hand with an early strike from Saviour Godwin, giving them a brief lead. However, former Liverpool player Sadio Mane responded by equalizing for Al-Nassr in the 29th minute, showcasing his offensive prowess.
Ronaldo then stepped up to convert a penalty just three minutes before halftime, putting Al-Nassr in front. The 39-year-old Portuguese forward, who joined Al-Nassr two years prior, continues to demonstrate his skill on the field. Last season, he was the league’s top scorer and currently sits just one goal shy of Aleksandar Mitrovic from Al-Hilal, as they compete for this season’s scoring title.
Mane went on to secure his second goal of the match in the 88th minute, further solidifying Al-Nassr’s lead. This win propelled the team to third place in the league standings, trailing Al-Hilal by six points and eight points behind the league leaders, Al-Ittihad.
