FARMVILLE, Va.
In an exciting matchup on Wednesday night, Michael Christmas showcased an outstanding performance by scoring 27 points, leading Longwood to an 85-76 victory over UNC Asheville.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Christmas grabbed eight rebounds, further contributing to his team’s success as the Lancers improved their record to 13-5 overall and 2-1 in the Big South Conference.
Elijah Tucker also made a significant impact, netting 14 points and demonstrating efficiency with his shooting, converting 5 out of 7 attempts and 4 out of 6 from the free-throw line. He rounded off his performance with nine rebounds.
Colby Garland added to the scoring with 13 points, striking 3 out of 11 from the field and impressively hitting 7 of 8 from the charity stripe.
On the opposing side, Jordan Marsh led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 points. Kameron Taylor contributed 14 points, while Josh Banks added 12 to the scoreline for UNC Asheville, which now holds a record of 10-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Both teams are set to return to the court on Saturday, with Longwood heading to Winthrop and UNC Asheville traveling to face Presbyterian.
