Bamisile scores 18 as VCU defeats Fordham 73-61

RICHMOND, Va. — In an impressive display, Joe Bamisile scored 18 points, helping VCU achieve a 73-61 victory over Fordham on Wednesday evening.

Bamisile also contributed eight rebounds for the Rams, who now hold a record of 12-4 and stand 2-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Max Shulga supported the team with 16 points, shooting 5 of 12 from the field, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc, and successfully made 5 of 6 free throws while also securing six rebounds.

Fordham (8-8, 0-3) saw Japhet Medor lead their efforts, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and four assists. Matt Zona also had a noteworthy performance, contributing 14 points to the team total.

At halftime, VCU held a slim lead of 24-23, with Shulga notably scoring seven points during the first half. Bamisile elevated his game significantly in the second half, scoring 16 points to help seal the victory.

Looking ahead, VCU’s next matchup is scheduled for Tuesday against Saint Louis at home, while Fordham will travel to face Davidson on Saturday.
