ALBANY, N.Y. – In a thrilling showdown on Sunday, Adam Njie scored 13 points and made a pivotal free throw in the closing seconds to help Iona secure a narrow 74-73 victory over Siena.

Njie contributed significantly beyond scoring, recording five rebounds and five steals for the Gaels, who now hold a record of 5-10 overall and 2-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Clarence Rupert also played a key role, finishing the game with 12 points, having made 5 of 6 attempts from the field and converting 2 of 3 free throws. Justin Menard added 11 points to Iona’s tally, shooting 3 of 6 from the field and impressively hitting 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, along with three steals.

On the other side, the Saints were powered by Brendan Coyle, who led all scorers with 20 points and contributed three steals.
