NORFOLK, Va. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday evening, Old Dominion managed to secure a close victory against Southern Miss, finishing with a score of 74-71. Robert Davis Jr. was a standout performer for the Monarchs, contributing 18 points to the team’s success.
Davis displayed an effective shooting performance, hitting 6 of his 13 attempts from the field, including two three-pointers out of eight tries. Additionally, he excelled at the free-throw line, converting all four attempts. Old Dominion, now with a record of 6-9 and a solid 2-1 in the Sun Belt Conference, also saw Sean Durugordon making an impact with 16 points, as well as impressive statistics of nine rebounds and four steals. Caelum Swanton-Rodger provided valuable support by shooting 3 of 4 from the field and making six of nine from the foul line, ultimately finishing with 12 points alongside eight rebounds.
