BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — In a competitive matchup on Saturday, Gardner-Webb emerged victorious over Presbyterian with a narrow score of 63-61. Darryl Simmons II played a crucial role in the win, contributing 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the Runnin’ Bulldogs, who now hold a record of 6-9, including 1-1 in the Big South Conference.
Anthony Selden also made a notable impact, scoring 12 points alongside six rebounds. Pharell Boyogueno added to the team’s efforts with nine points, achieving impressive efficiency by going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, while also hitting one of his three attempts from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, the Blue Hose, now 8-9 and 1-1 in conference play, were spearheaded by Kobe Stewart, who recorded 16 points to go with seven rebounds and four steals. Kory Mincy contributed significantly as well, notching 11 points along with five assists and two steals. Iverson King assisted the cause with another 10 points and two steals of his own.
