SMITHFIELD, R.I. — In a commanding performance, Earl Timberlake scored 18 points, leading Bryant to an 81-55 win against Maine on Saturday.
Timberlake showcased his skills by also grabbing 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who improved their record to 7-9 and marked their first victory in the America East Conference with a 1-0 standing.
Barry Evans made a significant contribution with another 18 points, demonstrating efficient shooting as he connected on 7 of 10 attempts from the field and 3 of 7 from the free-throw line, in addition to securing eight rebounds and recording four steals.
Kvonn Cramer added to the scoring with 11 points on 5 of 9 shooting, along with eight rebounds and three blocks, reinforcing the team’s solid defensive and offensive balance.
For the Black Bears, who hold an 8-8 record and are 0-1 in the conference, AJ Lopez was the standout performer with 24 points.
Logan Carey contributed nine points, while Kellen Tynes chipped in with seven points and helped defensively with four steals.
Looking ahead, Bryant is set to face Vermont at home next Saturday, while Maine will host Binghamton on Thursday.
