RICHMOND, Va. — On Saturday evening, Jonathan Pierre delivered an impressive performance, scoring 28 points to help Belmont secure a 93-86 victory over Richmond.

Pierre not only led the Bruins (9-2) in scoring but also contributed with seven rebounds and nine assists. His teammates also made significant contributions, with Isaiah Walker adding 13 points and six rebounds, while Tyler Lundblade matched his effort with 13 points as well.

For the Spiders (4-6), Delonnie Hunt and Dusan Neskovic each scored 18 points, with Hunt also contributing four steals to the effort. Jason Roche supported the team with an additional 13 points.

Belmont went into halftime with a narrow lead of 40-34, largely thanks to Pierre’s strong first-half showing, where he scored 14 points. The momentum shifted after halftime when Belmont orchestrated an 8-0 run, turning a 44-44 tie into a commanding 52-44 lead just over five minutes into the second half. Pierre continued to excel, racking up another 14 points in that period, ultimately sealing the Bruins’ victory.
