MONROE, La. — In an impressive display of skill, Coltie Young led the UL Monroe Warhawks to a decisive 89-73 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday night, contributing a remarkable 28 points to his team’s effort.
Young’s performance included shooting 9 out of 15 from the field, with an impressive 7 of 13 from beyond the arc, along with a perfect 3 for 3 at the free-throw line. This victory improves the Warhawks’ record to 4 wins and 7 losses for the season.
Tyreese Watson also shone in this matchup, scoring 16 points while providing the team with 11 assists and securing five steals. AD Diedhiou matched Watson’s scoring total of 16 points, showcasing an exceptional shooting performance by going 8 for 8 from the field.
On the other side, the Golden Lions, who now hold a record of 2-9, saw Dante Sawyer and Caleb Jones each contribute 14 points. Kyle Brown added to the effort with 12 points, but it was not enough to turn the tide in favor of his team.
