NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Dejour Reaves delivered an impressive performance with 19 points, leading Iona to a 72-63 victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday.
Reaves also contributed defensively, recording four steals as the Gaels improved their record to 3-8 overall and 1-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Joining him in scoring, James Patterson put in 18 points while also pulling down 11 rebounds and securing three steals. Adam Njie was another key contributor for Iona, scoring 16 points after hitting 5 of 13 shots from the floor, which included a 1 for 5 mark from beyond the arc, and going 5 for 7 from the free-throw line.
For the Peacocks, Marcus Randolph was the standout player, netting 29 points to lead his team. He was supported by Armoni Zeigler, who added 11 points along with six rebounds, while Stephon Roberts chipped in with eight points. Saint Peter’s now holds a record of 4-5, with an 0-2 mark in conference play.
Looking ahead, Iona is set to face Colgate in an away game next Sunday, while Saint Peter’s will be hosting Delaware on Friday.
