INDIANAPOLIS — Tyrese Haliburton delivered an impressive performance with 27 points, complemented by Myles Turner’s contribution of 20 points, six rebounds, and three blocks, propelling the Indiana Pacers to a commanding 126-108 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. Haliburton also contributed eight assists and remarkably recorded his second consecutive game without a turnover. The Pacers have now won three out of their last four games, bringing their overall record to an even 18-18. Additionally, this victory allowed Indiana to sweep the season series against the Suns.

Kevin Durant led the Suns with 25 points, along with seven rebounds and seven assists, while Devin Booker added 20 points in the same arena where he previously achieved an impressive 62 points in January 2024. In this game, Booker also had nine rebounds and nine assists to his credit.

The game took a decisive turn for the Pacers as they broke a 56-all tie at halftime, quickly scoring the first five points of the second half. They dominated the third quarter, scoring 40 points—marking it as their third-best quarter of the season—as they took control of the game. Through the second half, Indiana managed to maintain their lead without ever trailing.

In terms of analysis, the situation for the Suns remains troubling. The anticipated big three of Booker, Durant, and Bradley Beal was expected to lead them to title contention. However, they have seen a dramatic drop in performance, losing seven out of their last eight games and ten of thirteen, which has left coach Mike Budenholzer eagerly awaiting his 500th career win.

On the other hand, the Pacers seem to be finding their rhythm as they had hoped for. Over the past eleven games, they have shown significant improvement in both coordination and defense, resulting in eight wins during this stretch and a return to a .500 record.

A pivotal moment in the game came when Indiana concluded their substantial third quarter with a 12-5 run, widening their lead from eight points to 96-82. From that point on, Phoenix was forced to play catch-up.

Statistically, the Pacers showcased impressive teamwork with 35 assists on 46 successful baskets and only six turnovers. They also outperformed the Suns on the boards, finishing with a 47-37 rebounding advantage.

Looking ahead, the Suns will continue their three-game road trip with a match against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, while the Pacers are set to travel to Brooklyn on the same day.
