FORT WORTH, Texas — In a commanding performance, Hailey Van Lith scored 19 points and recorded six assists, while Sedona Prince contributed 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading No. 19 TCU to an impressive 81-43 victory over Incarnate Word on Thursday.
With this win, TCU improved to a perfect 5-0 record, extending their remarkable streak to 20 consecutive nonconference victories and 18 straight wins in home nonleague games. The Horned Frogs recently achieved a historic milestone, capturing their first victory over a reigning Final Four team by edging out No. 13 NC State with a score of 76-73, which helped elevate them to their highest ranking in the AP Top 25 since December 8, 2008.
In the first quarter, Donovyn Hunter ignited TCU’s scoring with seven consecutive points, pushing the team to their first double-digit lead with just over two minutes to play in the period. By halftime, TCU maintained a solid advantage, leading 35-24—a lead they would not relinquish as it never fell under 10 points for the remainder of the game.
The fourth quarter saw TCU explode offensively, scoring the first 18 points, while Incarnate Word struggled, missing 16 consecutive shots during a stretch that bridged the third and fourth quarters. In addition to Van Lith and Prince, Madison Conner also played a vital role for TCU, putting up 17 points and nailing four 3-pointers.
For Incarnate Word, Jorja Elliott and Raimi McCrary each scored eight points in a losing effort. The Cardinals had a narrow defeat in their last encounter with TCU, losing 61-55 after being down by 18 points in the final five minutes.
Next up, TCU is set to host Idaho State on Sunday, while Incarnate Word will also be in action that day, facing Abilene Christian.
