MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The yearly college football bowl game in Alabama’s capital is set to undergo a rebranding and will now be known as the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl, as confirmed by the event’s organizers.
Previously referred to as the Camellia Bowl since its inception in 2014, the game will feature Integrated Solutions for Systems (IS4S), an engineering and electronics company based in Huntsville, as its new title sponsor starting this year’s edition of the game, according to recent reports. The kickoff is scheduled for December 14 at Cramton Bowl located in Montgomery.
Johnny Williams, the executive director of the bowl game, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with IS4S, emphasizing that the company has significant engagement with the military and federal government. He remarked, “This is an exciting time in the history of our game. We’ve established a wonderful relationship with the City of Montgomery and Montgomery County during our first decade, and we are now delighted to join forces with IS4S to further enhance college football’s presence here.”
Doug Singleton, who serves as the chairman for the Montgomery County Commission, highlighted the event as a tribute to the county’s rich military heritage. He stated, “This game provides us with a unique chance to pay tribute to the courageous individuals who have defended our nation while also showcasing the remarkable athletic abilities of two participating universities.”
For the upcoming IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl, teams will alternate from the Mid-American Conference, Sun Belt Conference, and Conference USA, with team matchups slated to be announced on December 8.
The kickoff for the 2024 edition of the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl is set for 8 p.m. on December 14, and ESPN has confirmed that they will broadcast the game live.
