Morehead, KY – In a hard-fought match on Saturday, Carter Cravens led the Morehead State Eagles to a narrow 14-7 victory over Presbyterian, throwing for a total of 212 yards.

With only 1:53 remaining in the first half, Nate Garnett put the Eagles on the scoreboard first, establishing a 7-0 advantage. After halftime, the Eagles extended their lead to 14-0 early in the third quarter. This scoring drive was notably highlighted by a remarkable 64-yard connection between Cravens and Ryan Upp, culminating in a 5-yard touchdown run by Isaac Stopke, concluding a swift three-play, 74-yard series.

The Presbyterian Blue Hose, not to be outdone, quickly countered with a successful six-play, 69-yard drive. Collin Hurst found Jayden Pressey for a 23-yard touchdown pass, cutting Morehead State’s lead to 14-7 with 11:05 still left on the clock.

Despite their efforts, Presbyterian’s last two possessions ended disappointingly. After 15 plays on one drive, they failed to convert on downs, and later, a potential game-winning drive was halted by an interception at the goal line, with Jihad McCall snatching a pass intended for Hurst.

Statistically, Presbyterian appeared to have the upper hand, registering 23 first downs compared to Morehead State’s 10 and outgaining them 273 total yards to 252. However, their performance was marred by difficulties, including three fumbles and two interceptions, as well as 12 penalties amounting to 110 yards against the Eagles.

With this victory, Morehead State now holds a narrow lead in their series against Presbyterian, with a record of 3 wins to 2 losses.
