NEW YORK — A lineup featuring prominent artists such as Sting, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers has been confirmed for FireAid, a charitable concert aimed at aiding wildfire relief efforts in the Los Angeles area.
Initially set to occur at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, the event will now be hosted across two venues: the Intuit Dome and the nearby Kia Forum on January 30.
FireAid will have a comprehensive broadcasting plan, allowing audiences to tune in via Apple Music, Apple TV, Max, iHeartRadio, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudum, Paramount+, Prime Video, the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch, SiriusXM, Spotify, SoundCloud, Veeps, and YouTube. Additionally, select AMC Theatres in the United States will screen the concert.
A press release indicated that donations gathered from FireAid will be allocated under the guidance of the Annenberg Foundation for both immediate relief and initiatives aimed at preventing future wildfire incidents. All proceeds generated from this benefit concert at both venues will directly support its specified beneficiaries.
The impressive list of performers will also feature Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Lil Baby, Pink, Rod Stewart, Gwen Stefani, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Gracie Abrams, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks, Tate McRae, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Notably, Dave Matthews and John Mayer are set to perform together live for the first time.
Additional artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase starting Wednesday at 12 PM PDT through Ticketmaster.
The concert is organized by Shelli, Irving, and the Azoff family in collaboration with Live Nation and AEG Presents.
In response to the wildfires, numerous celebrities and entertainment organizations have pledged substantial donations to aid those affected. Beyoncé has contributed $2.5 million to a newly created LA Fire Relief Fund through her foundation, BeyGOOD.
Recently, the Recording Academy and MusiCares initiated the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort with a $1 million donation, which, along with additional support, has already led to the distribution of $2 million in emergency aid.
Despite the challenges posed by the wildfires, the 67th annual Grammy Awards are still scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 2, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Recording Academy is shifting its focus towards aiding relief efforts amidst the ongoing crisis following the devastating wildfires in the area.
