Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has filed another appeal for his release from jail ahead of his upcoming trial. On October 8, his attorney, Alexander A.E. Shapiro, submitted the appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, contesting the decision to deny him bail. According to court documents, Combs’ defense argues that the restrictive bail conditions offered would have eliminated any concerns about flight risk or danger.

In the filing, Shapiro criticizes the court’s rejection of the bail package and claims it violated the Bail Reform Act. The defense highlights Combs’ voluntary surrender in New York and asserts that he has demonstrated his commitment to face the charges rather than flee. Citing the Bail Reform Act, Shapiro argues that pretrial detention should only be a limited exception.

Diddy, 54, has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his September 16 arrest on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. The appeal challenges the Southern District of New York’s decision, which cited alleged witness tampering and obstruction of justice as reasons for denying bail.

Despite two previous denials, including one from Judge L. Carter who expressed concerns about potential interference with witnesses, Combs’ legal team remains hopeful. They continue to argue that Combs should be released with appropriate bail conditions, especially given his voluntary surrender. His attorney Marc Agnifilo has vowed to “fight like hell” to secure Combs’ release, asserting that his client is not a criminal despite his imperfections.

Diddy’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 10, and it remains to be seen whether this latest appeal will result in his pretrial release. If successful, Combs could be free in the coming days as he awaits trial.
