BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Orioles have announced the return of Colton Cowser from the 60-day injured list on Monday. The outfielder’s comeback aligns with the team’s preparation for an upcoming six-game road trip on the West Coast.
Before starting their matches against the Mariners and the Athletics, the Orioles had a day off on Monday. This call-up comes shortly after the Orioles enjoyed a successful sweep against the Chicago White Sox across three games.
Cowser had been sidelined with a broken left thumb and has not been in play since March 30. In light of Cowser’s return, the team has made the decision to designate utility player Cooper Hummel for assignment.
Last season, Cowser made a significant impact by hitting 24 home runs and ended the season as the runner-up for the American League Rookie of the Year award.
