HOUSTON — In an impressive display of skill, Albert Rusnák netted two goals, while Danny Musovski scored for the fifth game in a row, leading the Seattle Sounders to a 3-1 triumph over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night.
Rusnák received an assist from Pedro de la Vega, executing a one-touch side-footer from the center of the box to secure the lead for Seattle in the 46th minute. He then added another goal in the 58th minute, firing home a low cross from Ryan Kent to conclude the scoring.
This victory extends Seattle’s (5-3-4) unbeaten streak to five games, where they have outscored their competitors 11-2 across four wins during this period.
Goalkeeper Stefan Frei was a key player for the Sounders, recording three saves, including a spectacular one-handed leap in the 60th minute.
Musovski initiated the scoring early in the match at the 22nd minute mark, successfully heading a chipped pass from Paul Rothrock into the goal.
Despite Femi Awodesu leveling the match with his maiden MLS goal in the 32nd minute, his efforts were marred by a red card for a handball in the 38th minute, leaving Houston to battle with ten players for the remainder of the match.
The Dynamo (2-6-4) were searching for a comeback after experiencing a 2-0 defeat against Los Angeles FC, marking their first shutout of the season.
The Sounders and the Dynamo had previously faced off in a goalless stalemate on March 22 in Seattle.
