TORONTO – Daulton Varsho has made a triumphant return to the Toronto Blue Jays’ outfield, showcasing his Gold Glove-caliber skills once again. Activated off the injured list, Varsho made an unforgettable catch during his season debut, boosting his team’s confidence in his defensive prowess.

In the fourth inning of a game against Boston, Varsho faced a challenging play against a drive by Jarren Duran. As the ball soared toward center field, Varsho sprinted toward the wall. Just as he reached the warning track, he lost his balance, tumbling to the ground. But in a display of athleticism and awareness, he managed to rise onto one knee. With his back turned to home plate, he extended his glove and made a spectacular catch, a moment that surely left fans in awe.

Last season, Varsho earned recognition for his skills by claiming his first Gold Glove award with the Blue Jays. During that period, he delivered solid performance with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs, despite a batting average of .214. The 28-year-old’s presence this season was delayed due to surgery on his right shoulder, which he had undergone in September. Throughout his career spanning five seasons in Arizona and Toronto, Varsho has maintained a .225 batting average, complemented by a .414 slugging percentage and a total of 79 home runs.

In roster updates, Toronto has also brought in right-hander Casey Lawrence after claiming him off waivers from Seattle. As part of the adjustments, right-hander Paxton Schultz and infielder Will Wagner have been moved to Triple-A Buffalo, ensuring the team maintains its competitive edge.

In other news, on the same day, Max Scherzer, a distinguished pitcher renowned for winning the Cy Young Award three times, continued his rehabilitation by throwing off the mound. Scherzer is on the mend from thumb inflammation, making steady progress on his road to recovery.
