NORTH BEND, Ore. — An incident involving a small corporate jet took place early Monday morning in Southern Oregon, resulting in injuries to five individuals. The event occurred when the aircraft veered off the runway at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport and ended up in the waters of Coos Bay. This occurred just before 6:15 a.m., according to information provided by the airport’s social media channels.
Onboard the plane were the pilot and four passengers, all of whom were safely rescued and transported to a nearby hospital. The airport confirmed that their conditions were stable. By Monday evening, two of the injured had been released, while one required hospital admission. Another was still under evaluation, and the fifth individual had to be transferred out of the area to receive additional medical attention.
This unfortunate incident involved a 2019 Honda HA-420, which was removed from the water following a clearance from the National Transportation Safety Board. The plane had been en route to Oregon from St. George, Utah, at the time of the mishap.
