DENVER — The Denver Broncos made a strategic move by signing former University of Texas standout and Indianapolis Colts quarterback, Sam Ehlinger, to their roster. This acquisition strengthens their quarterback lineup by adding experience and depth.

Ehlinger steps in to fill the void left by Zach Wilson, who departed for Miami earlier in free agency. As the third quarterback for the Broncos, Ehlinger joins the ranks behind Bo Nix, who is gearing up for his second year as a starter, and seasoned backup, Jarrett Stidham, who brings seven years of NFL experience.

Throughout his time in the NFL, Ehlinger has participated in eight games and started in three, all as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts selected him during the sixth round of the 2021 draft. During his professional journey, he has successfully completed 64 of 101 pass attempts, accumulating 573 yards, with three touchdown throws and three interceptions along the way. The Broncos hope his addition will provide competent support to their quarterback roster in the upcoming season.
