Andrew Tate, a prominent figure in the social media sphere known for his controversial views on women, is now facing fresh legal challenges. His former girlfriend has filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and battery, adding to his ongoing legal issues. Tate is already entangled in accusations relating to human trafficking and allegations of forming a criminal enterprise to exploit women sexually in Romania. His brother, Tristan Tate, also faces similar allegations.

The lawsuit, lodged by ex-girlfriend Brianna Stern in Los Angeles, claims Tate’s abusive behavior is consistent with his public persona, which leans heavily on misogyny. Stern describes the beginning of their relationship as filled with overwhelming affection and generosity, which she claims eventually turned abusive. A recent incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel is detailed in the lawsuit, where Stern alleges she was physically assaulted by Tate, leading to a diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome.

Joseph McBride, Tate’s lawyer, has denied the allegations, calling them baseless attacks designed to exploit Tate’s recent notoriety for financial gain. “This is a money grab,” McBride stated, criticizing the legal actions against his client as manipulative.

Andrew Tate and his brother were arrested in Romania in late 2022, facing charges that include human trafficking and rape. They maintain their innocence and assert that the accusations are unfounded. Stern, who met Tate in July 2024 under the pretense of a modeling opportunity in Romania, asserts that Tate misled her into believing that media reports about his behavior were false, initially convincing her that he was an advocate for women.

Upon her return to the U.S., Stern claims Tate’s communications became increasingly menacing, declaring her his “property” and making violent threats. Tate’s attorney disputes the authenticity of these messages, labeling them either fabricated or distorted.

The lawsuit includes details of a final altercation during which Stern claims Tate physically assaulted her, threatening her life if she ever opposed him. Tate, 38, has built a significant online following, largely young men drawn to the opulent lifestyle he showcases, despite previously facing bans on platforms like TikTok and Facebook for promoting hate speech.

Recently, the Tate brothers complied with Romanian judicial orders, appearing at a police station following their visit to the U.S., made possible by changes in their travel restrictions due to procedural discrepancies in the case. Tate argues that the Romanian prosecution lacks substantial evidence and has attributed the legal battle to a political conspiracy against him.

Simultaneously, in the U.K., four women are pursuing legal action against Tate for similar allegations after authorities decided against prosecuting him for sexual violence. An extradition request from the U.K. was approved, contingent on the conclusion of proceedings in Romania.

In a social media statement, Stern expressed fear regarding Tate’s response to her allegations but emphasized the importance of speaking out despite the difficulties in accepting her situation. Her attorney commended her for confronting her alleged abuser, calling it an act of bravery.
