In a recent social media post, President Donald Trump announced the installation of a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office.
The images, shared through his official X account, depict the historical document hanging prominently near the president’s workspace.
One of the pictures shows Trump pulling aside the room’s heavy blue drapes to examine the document.

It’s yet to be clarified where this particular copy was sourced from or when it was placed in its new setting.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt released a statement confirming, “At the President’s request, the National Archives transported the Declaration of Independence to the White House.
It will be exhibited in the Oval Office and maintained with utmost care and preservation efforts.”
The original Declaration, known for its faded state, continues to be housed in the National Archives’ facilities.
The copy in the White House, as seen in the shared images, appears to exhibit clear and readable text, a stark contrast to the original.
Attempts to obtain further clarification from the White House and National Archives about the document version in the Oval Office went unanswered.

In Trump’s post, he simply captioned the image: “The Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office,” offering no additional details.
This document is one component of a wider redecorating initiative undertaken by Trump.
According to a report, his updates include a painting of Andrew Jackson and a portrait of George Washington prominently displayed above the fireplace.
Additionally, the president has added a bust of Winston Churchill and a unique White House feature: a button on his desk used to summon a Diet Coke.

In other news, Karoline Leavitt is part of an ongoing legal dispute as one of three Trump administration officials facing a lawsuit from The Associated Press.
The case involves allegations of punitive actions by the administration against the news agency over differing editorial stances.
However, the White House argues that the AP has failed to comply with an executive order, which mandates referring to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
