In Nashville, Tennessee, the Tennessee Titans are currently holding the top pick in the upcoming NFL draft, sparking speculation that the team is prioritizing a quarterback for their first choice. On Friday, the Titans revealed they had secured a deal with veteran quarterback Brandon Allen. Allen, 32, is known for his journey across various NFL teams. Last season, he was the backup to Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers. Although the specific terms of the deal were not disclosed, Allen’s experience includes being a sixth-round pick in 2016 from Arkansas and previously playing for Denver, Cincinnati, and San Francisco.

Throughout his career, Allen has started in 10 of his 18 NFL appearances and has accumulated 1,810 passing yards, with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions, culminating in a passer rating of 76.2. He now reunites with Titans coach Brian Callahan, who worked as the offensive coordinator for Cincinnati when Allen was part of the team backing up Joe Burrow. Allen’s notable season came in 2020 when he started five games, recording 90 completions out of 142 attempts with five touchdowns and four interceptions.

Ahead of the new league year and free agency commencing on Wednesday, the Titans expressed interest in top draft quarterbacks, having met with Cam Ward from Miami and Shedeur Sanders from Colorado. In terms of Tennessee’s current quarterback lineup, Allen is joining forces with Will Levis, a significant draft pick at 33rd overall in 2023. Levis initially started the 2024 season as the lead quarterback but was eventually replaced by Mason Rudolph, who has since returned to Pittsburgh as a free agent after a single season with Tennessee.

In addition to their quarterback arrangements, the Titans have also re-signed center Corey Levin. Chosen in the sixth round from Chattanooga in 2017, Levin has played five seasons with Tennessee, where he began in five of the 71 games he participated in.
