CLEVELAND — In a thrilling encounter at the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals, Toledo secured a hard-fought 90-85 victory over Ohio in overtime on Thursday night. Isaiah Adams shone for the Rockets, scoring an impressive 26 points, while Sam Lewis contributed significantly during the extra period, adding eight points to his total game contribution.
Adams displayed his shooting prowess by effectively making 7 of his 13 field-goal attempts, including 2 out of 4 from long range. Consistent from the charity stripe, Adams converted 10 of his 12 free-throw attempts to help propel the Rockets to victory. Meanwhile, Lewis showcased his skillset, scoring 21 points on 9 of 21 shooting, including 2 of 3 from three-point territory. He also made crucial defensive plays, accounting for three steals and four blocks throughout the game. Sonny Wilson was another key performer for Toledo, finishing with 15 points after shooting 6 of 14 from the floor and a reliable 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.
On the opposite side, Ohio’s offense was spearheaded by Jackson Paveletzke, who notched an impressive 28 points. Shereef Mitchell and Victor Searls bolstered the Bobcats’ efforts with 12 points each.
