Rillieโ€™s 13 Points Propel Northern Colorado Past Montana State

    BOISE, Idaho โ€” Jaron Rillie played a key role in Northern Coloradoโ€™s commanding 72-45 win over Montana State during a semifinal matchup in the Big Sky Conference Tournament on Tuesday.

    This victory propels Northern Colorado to compete in the finals against the winner of the other semifinal clash between second-seeded Montana and sixth-seeded Idaho, scheduled for Wednesday night.

    Rillie, the standout player for the top-seeded Bears with a season record of 25-8, contributed 13 points by shooting 5 of 12 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw stripe. Teammate Brock Wisne added a strong performance with 12 points and five rebounds. Additionally, Quinn Denker was efficient, scoring 12 points, shooting 4 of 6 from the field, and making 4 of 6 free throws.

    Montana State, the fifth seed with a season record of 15-18, was led by Bryce Zephir, who managed to score 11 points. Max Agbonkpolo supported with nine points for the Bobcats.

    The Bears established their dominance early, leading 29-17 at halftime, and further solidified their advantage with a significant 15-2 run in the second half, transforming their 11-point halftime lead into a comfortable 24-point margin.

    This victory puts Northern Colorado in a strong position as they aim for the championship title in the upcoming finals.
