LOS ANGELES — Metallica fans are in for a treat as the legendary band’s electrifying performance from Mexico City is set to be delivered direct to audiences via Apple’s latest technology.

Apple announced on Tuesday that Metallica’s concert will be available as an immersive experience on the Apple Vision Pro video headset, starting this Friday. This special concert feature will include some of the band’s most popular songs like “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman.”

The concert was captured during the sold-out closing show of their M72 World Tour last year. This unique presentation provides an up-close view of the band members—James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo—through high-resolution, 180-degree video, paired with engaging spatial audio, offering a comprehensive sensory experience.

“You’ll feel like you’re right there with Metallica: whether it’s front row, backstage, or even on the stage alongside one of the most iconic bands,” shared a senior executive at Apple.

The company crafted a custom stage design integrating 14 immersive video cameras, a few of which dynamically moved around the stage to capture different perspectives.

Even for those who haven’t purchased the $3,500 headset, there’s an opportunity to experience Metallica’s performance. Apple encourages customers to book a Vision Pro demo at their local Apple store to enjoy the concert.

Previously, Apple Vision Pro hosted exclusive performances from artists such as Alicia Keys and Raye, with another interactive experience titled “The Weeknd: Open Hearts” by The Weeknd.
