Metallica is set to bring an electrifying concert experience to fans, thanks to a collaboration with Apple. Their performance, captured during a sold-out finale in Mexico City from their M72 World Tour, will be available on the Apple Vision Pro video headset, starting this Friday. The experience promises to deliver the band’s legendary hits such as “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman” in a highly immersive format.
The show allows viewers to feel closer than ever to band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, providing high-resolution, 180-degree visuals paired with immersive spatial audio. “With Metallica on Apple Vision Pro, you feel like you’re right there: front row, backstage, and even on stage with one of the biggest bands of all time,” said Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of marketing communications.
To capture the essence of Metallica’s performance, Apple constructed a unique stage set-up that featured 14 innovative video cameras, some strategically moving around the stage to enhance the immersive experience.
For those who don’t own the $3,500 headset, Apple offers a way to experience the concert through a Vision Pro demo, which can be booked at any local Apple Store.
In addition to Metallica, Apple Vision Pro has featured exclusive performances by artists such as Alicia Keys and Raye. The platform famously hosted The Weeknd’s immersive music experience titled “The Weeknd: Open Hearts,” offering fans unique and exclusive access to their favorite musicians in an innovative way.
