In an exciting collaboration with Apple, Metallica is set to bring their electrifying performance from Mexico City directly to fans through a unique virtual concert experience. This event will be accessible via Apple’s Vision Pro video headset starting Friday, featuring an engaging multi-sensory presentation of the band’s famous tracks such as “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman.”

Captured during the climax of their M72 World Tour, this immersive experience offers viewers an unprecedented opportunity to get up close with band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo. Using high-resolution, 180-degree video paired with immersive spatial audio, fans are given the impression they are right alongside the band.

Apple’s Vice President of Marketing Communications, Tor Myhren, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating that this experience allows fans to feel as if they are not just in the front row, but also backstage, or even sharing the stage with Metallica.

To achieve this unparalleled level of immersion, Apple constructed a stage setup specifically designed for the concert, utilizing 14 specialized video cameras. Some of these cameras were strategically placed to move around the stage, capturing every detail of the performance.

For those who do not own the $3,500 Vision Pro headset, Apple offers the chance to witness Metallica’s dynamic performance through in-store demos at local Apple stores.

This initiative follows other exclusive musical experiences hosted on the Vision Pro, including performances by Alicia Keys and Raye, as well as “The Weeknd: Open Hearts,” an immersive event featuring The Weeknd.
