Delaware Tops Towson 82-72 in CAA Tournament Semifinals

    WASHINGTON — Erik Timko shone brightly with 15 points, leading Delaware to a triumphant 82-72 win over Towson during the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament semifinals on Monday.

    Timko’s performance did not end at scoring; he also contributed six rebounds for the Blue Hens, who now own a 16-19 record. Alongside Timko, Niels Lane made a significant impact by adding 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Trent Middleton also delivered a commendable performance, making 3 of 5 field-goal attempts and hitting 7 of 8 free throws, concluding with a total of 14 points.

    On the Towson side, Dylan Williamson stood out by scoring 23 points and handing out four assists, as the team ended their season with a 22-11 record. Nendah Tarke added depth with 13 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Additionally, Christian May chipped in with 12 points for the Tigers.

    Heading into the halftime break, Delaware edged Towson with a narrow 36-32 lead, largely thanks to Lane’s contribution of 12 points. In the second half, Timko remained a pivotal player by leading the team with 12 points, ensuring Delaware’s victory.
