This decision comes after Keatts’ eight-year tenure with the team, marking a substantial shift less than a year after an unexpected triumph that saw the Wolfpack advance to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship as well as the Final Four.
The announcement of his firing was made public by the university shortly after the team’s disappointing end to the season, finishing with a 12-19 record. Boo Corrigan, the athletic director of N.C. State, shared his appreciation for Keatts’ contributions and the dignified manner in which he represented the institution. Corrigan highlighted Keatts’ memorable leadership during the successful 2023-24 season and expressed well wishes for his future endeavors.
