Troy Tops Old Dominion 75-59, Conerway Scores 18

    PENSACOLA, Fla. — Tayton Conerway delivered an impressive performance by scoring 18 points, helping the No. 3 seed Troy triumph over No. 10 seed Old Dominion with a 75-59 victory on Saturday night in the Sun Belt Conference Championship quarterfinal.
    Troy, now with a record of 21-10, is set to face No. 2 seed James Madison (20-11) in a highly anticipated semifinal clash on Sunday.

    Conerway’s efforts on the court were further highlighted with his contribution of five rebounds and five steals. Another key player, Myles Rigsby, added to Troy’s success with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Thomas Dowd contributed with 10 points.

    On the opposing side, R.J. Blakney stood out for the Monarchs, posting 20 points, securing six rebounds, providing four assists, and making three steals. Sean Durugordon also had an impactful game for Old Dominion, scoring 14 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and making two blocks. Robert Davis Jr. chipped in with 10 points. Unfortunately for Old Dominion, this defeat marks their seventh consecutive loss, placing them in a challenging position.

    Conerway set the tone by leading the Trojans in the first half with 17 points, pushing their lead to 36-18 by halftime.
