In Grambling, Louisiana, Alabama State secured a 59-47 win over Grambling State on Saturday, with Antonio Madlock emerging as a key player by scoring 16 points.
Additionally, Madlock contributed significantly to the Hornets’ (16-15, 12-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference) victory by grabbing 10 rebounds. Amarr Knox also made his presence felt by scoring 14 points, making 4 of 12 shots from the field and successfully converting all 5 of his free throws. Meanwhile, CJ Hines managed to put up 10 points, hitting 4 out of 11 shots with none from three-point range, while also notching three steals.
On the Tigers’ (10-21, 7-11) side, James Flippin stood out by scoring 19 points. Mikale Stevenson contributed nine points, accompanied by four assists and three steals for Grambling. Kintavious Dozier also added nine points to the scoreboard.
Both teams are now preparing to participate in the SWAC Tournament, which is set to take place from Tuesday to the following Saturday in Atlanta.
