Mike Gesicki is making a comeback to the Cincinnati Bengals after reaching an agreement on a three-year contract valued at $25.5 million. This development was shared by a person familiar with the contract discussions, who spoke on condition of anonymity since the deal has not been officially completed. The new NFL league year is set to commence on Wednesday.
Gesicki enjoyed a fruitful initial season with the Bengals. His performance placed him third in receptions for the team, accumulating 65 catches for a total of 665 yards and securing two touchdowns. As he approaches his eighth season in 2025, Gesicki continues to be a prominent figure for the team.
Originally drafted by Miami in the second round of the 2018 draft, Gesicki spent five productive seasons with the Dolphins. After a brief stint in New England in 2023, he found his way to Cincinnati, earning a vital role within the team.
The Bengals still have some key negotiations pending, particularly focusing on Joe Burrow’s leading targets. Ja’Marr Chase is poised to potentially become the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback following a remarkable season where he topped the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and touchdown catches (17) during the 2024 season.
Meanwhile, Tee Higgins will continue under the franchise tag for the second year in a row. Higgins has consistently delivered strong performances, logging at least 73 catches in three of the past four seasons, capped off by a career-best season with 10 touchdowns.
